Marie-claude rodrigueMarie-Claude trained in contemporary dance at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and at the Ateliers de Danse Moderne de Montréal (LADMMI). For thirteen years, she worked as a contemporary dancer and teacher with the internationally known dance company O Vertigo.
Her passion for the performing arts led her to perfect several crafts, such as voice work, theatre, contact improvisation, tango dancing and various somatic release techniques. |
For the past fifteen years, she has been practicing Yoga, Qi Gong, Tai Chi, Taoist Meditation and continually pursues energy work involving both body and spirit. In 2001, she received her certification to teach Gyrotonic® and Gyrokinesis™. In 2004, she became a Certified Instructor for the Universal Tao System created by Master Mantak Chia. She continues to study advanced Qi Gong with Master Yves Requena of the Institut Européen de Qi Gong, acupressure (Jin Shin Do) and organ massage (Chi Nei Tsang).
Through twenty years of body work and continuous research in the area of body/spirit harmonization, she has come to create her own methods of teaching the art of self-healing: the “Memory of Breath” and “GyroTao”. These two personal and evolving approaches are anchored in the fundamental principles of Chinese traditional medicine, Taoist philosophy and contemporary release techniques.
In parallel to her activity as a teacher of Qi Gong and dance, Marie-Claude continues to explore the expression of Being through her profession as a performer and choreographer. She takes her inspiration mostly from the role of the sacred in art and from the fusion of cultures. She has created 7 pieces that have been presented in Montreal, Quebec City, Toronto, Trois-Rivières between 1996 and 2008: Territoires Féminins, «Wu Xing » les cinqs saisons de l’énergie, Frontières, La Llorona, Tangorazon, Palestra Tanguera, Lymphe.
She is founder and director of Studio Fragments Libres and Danse Fragments Libres contemporary dance compagny.

Maria KefirovaOriginaire de la Bulgarie, Maria Kefirova s’établit à Montréal en 1993 et complète sa formation professionnelle aux Ateliers de Danse moderne de Montréal Inc. en 1997. Depuis, elle collabore en tant qu’interprète à plusieurs projets de la compagnie Lucie Grégoire Danse.
Également, elle a dansé pour les chorégraphes Florence Figols, Hélène Blackburn, Mariko Tanabe, Héloïse Rémy, Sara Hanley, Marie-Pascale Bélanger, Nancy Leduc, parmi d’autres. Son attrait pour la danse Butoh l’amène à travailler avec le chorégraphe mexicain Diego Piñon. |

Parallèlement à son travail d’interprète, elle explore et construis son propre langage et sa vision chorégraphiques. En 2006 et 2007, elle présente à PS122 (New York) et au Studio 303 (Montréal) le duo Apparences. En 2003, le solo QUI dans le cadre du festival montréalais Émergence et au Studio 303. Elle a été invitée à faire la chorégraphie des pièces de théâtre et un film documentaire. Intéressée par l’art vidéo comme moyen d’amplifier la force d’évocation de la danse, elle créé les vidéo-danses : Soif (2001), The Fish Aria (2006) et You are here (2007).
En 2007, Maria devient instructeur Gyrotonic et de Gyrokinesis.
